GENKORD CORD BLOOD BANK Stem cell transplantation has beening used since 1970s to treat disorders of blood system. Also we can benefit from power of stem cells in regenarative medicine and tissue engineering.It is widely accepted that stem cells treatments are one of the most promising area in 21 century medicine. Genkord was founded by a group of investors and scientists in September,2003 to servis as a cord blood bank and stem cell research center. Our first cord blood sample was stored in December,2003. Until now, we have been storing 1500 cord blood samples in our cryopresevation area. Genkord has determined it’s mission as servicing due to international rules and standardizing cord blood and stem cell banking in Turkiye so our office, storage facilities and laboratory are located on the European side of Istanbul. Genkord is an independent company , does not have an affiliation to another bank but has affilities in most states of Turkiye and all of them are shipping cord blood units to headquarters in special packing. We are servicing as appropriate to “Cord Blood Banking Regulations” and “The Tissue or Organ Transplantation Law” , approved by Ministry of Health ,Turkiye . Genkord has a claim to be a leader health and research center in Turkiye. Genkord has alliance with other biothecnology companies and Hacettepe University in Ankara through BIYOMEDTEK, a biotechnology organization supported by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkiye ). Genkord always follow the inovations in technology and try to adopt to itself. We have been producing our products in a loboratory build according to “Good Manufacturig Practices”. This enchances the quality of our products. During the speration process of cord blood, we use SEPAX system which make possible for us to have an effecient speration and quality product.
