Academic Career and Specialization Journey
Prof. Dr. Gürsel Turgut completed his medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1992 and began his medical career. In the early years of his career, he gained experience in athlete health as the Football Team Doctor at Galatasaray Sports Club. Driven by his passion for surgery, he successfully completed his specialization training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Şişli Etfal Hospital in 2000.

Dr. Turgut received his Associate Professorship in 2010 and his Professorship in 2015, thus scientifically confirming his expertise in the field of plastic surgery.

Clinical Leadership and Industry Experience

Throughout his professional life, Prof. Dr. Gürsel Turgut has been responsible for the Aesthetic Surgery departments at established institutions such as Istanbul Surgical Hospital and Liv Hospital Ulus, gaining extensive clinical and managerial experience. Between 2016 and 2023, he served as a full-time Professor at Beykent University, sharing his knowledge with the next generation of physicians. He currently works as the VIP Patient Director within the Esteworld Health Group and meticulously continues his work at his private clinic in Harbiye, Istanbul.

Innovation, R&D, and Stem Cell Vision

Dr. Turgut, who combines plastic surgery with advanced technology and biotechnology, took over Genkord Stem Cell and Biotechnology Inc. in 2010 and has pioneered projects in the field of regenerative medicine. During this process, he has provided innovative solutions to the sector with his patented inventions: Stem Cell Separation Device, Blood Product Separation Device, and Apheresis Devices. Being awarded the prestigious "Seal of Excellence" by the European Commission under the "Horizon 2020" program for his BLOODART project proves the internationally recognized quality of his projects.

Global Technology and Unique Surgical Techniques

Dr. Turgut, the first person in Türkiye to implement 3D design and reverse engineering applications in the production of personalized implants, facial features, and epitheses, possesses one of the world's largest case series in this field. He has developed unique surgical techniques in areas such as facelift, rhinoplasty, and microsurgery, and in 2021, he successfully completed the Heromist Dry Fog System project, which provides environmental decontamination, thus expanding his vision in the field of medical technology.

International Experience and Scientific Heritage

Prof. Dr. Gürsel Turgut, whose educational journey was shaped by a global perspective, gained advanced surgical experience in Germany (hand surgery), Belgium (maxillofacial surgery), and prestigious centers such as New York University and Mount Sinai in the United States. In 2005, he pioneered the first stem cell applications in Türkiye, particularly in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. Today, with his unique approach that blends biotechnology and aesthetic surgery, he continues to contribute to human health through Genkord and his own clinic.
